UCL Advances is the centre for entrepreneurship and business interaction at UCL. It exists to stimulate collaboration amongst researchers, business and investors, driving innovations that benefit society and the economy, with a particular focus on new businesses and SME engagement. As part of its mission, UCL Advances works to support start-ups and small businesses across London by helping them to access the technical and business expertise of UCL’s staff and students through a series of programmes to help support ambitious young companies. UCL Advances is part of UCL Enterprise, led by the Vice-Provost (Enterprise), Professor Stephen Caddick. UCL Enterprise provides UCL’s structures for engaging with business for commercial and societal benefit. It includes three units: UCL Advances, UCL Business and UCL Consultants. Together, they provide access to the capabilities and resources of the UCL community to help businesses start, grow and develop.

University College London is one of the premier universities in the UK for research and innovation, and is dedicated to harnessing its exceptional research for positive social and economic benefit. To this end it has created UCL Business PLC. A wholly-owned subsidiary of University College London, UCL Business has been formed to help industry and business make the most of UCL innovations. Through licensing technologies & innovations, engaging consultancy services, creating shared-risk joint-venture businesses, and utilising UCL’s specialist Subsidiaries, UCL Business promotes and supports the transfer into industry of expertise and knowledge over a wide range of disciplines. Students can undertake projects with UCL Business in commercialization of technologies providing the opportunity to work on a real-life business platform.

Entrepreneurs Society aims to aid aspiring entrepreneurs by way of creating opportunities for students to interact with established entrepreneurs and other experts, and discuss topical issues as well as to enable students to have better access to a variety of other resources. In addition, UCL Entrepreneur also intend to encourage students who are still undecided to explore a varying range of career paths while presenting entrepreneurship as one of the viable options available to them.
