What is the 4th Annual CleanTech Challenge?
* A 3-stage student-run business plan competition
* Exclusively for postgraduate business and technical students
* Teams are mentored and judged by professionals in a 4-month, 3-stage competition, culminating in a two-day Boot Camp in London
* Ideas must be novel, environmentally-impactful, feasible, & clear
* Hosted by London Business School and UCL annually since 2009

Roles & Responsibilities
UCL – Vice Co-Chair/ External Relations Director
* Design the pre-Boot Camp speaker and activity series (coordinate schedule and logistics)
* Recruit speakers and UCL departments to participate
* Plug the CTC into existing events (cleantech & entrepreneurial)
* Manage the series budget
Judges & Mentors Relationship Director
* Identify and recruit ~ 20 mentors and judges by interacting with VCs, entrepreneurs, and cleantech businesses for Stage 2 & BootCamp judging and mentoring
* Coordinate with them during Stage 2 and Boot Camp
Funding Director - Sponsorship & Treasury
* Seek up to £45,000 to run this non-profit student-run competition
* Design the sponsorship strategy (offer, approach, time line, target & quantity)
* Prepare/adjust sponsorship offer packets
* Coordinating UCL and LBS sponsorship activities to ensure no conflicts
* Allocating money for CTC activities (e.g. events, boot camp, travel subsidies)
* Creating a budget, reimbursement and invoicing
Communications Director
* Compose and send compelling promotions with great copy!
* Promote the CTC through the website, social media to the London community and CTC challenge members
* Press relations, get media interest in the wider world
* Run the mailing list - send appropriate updates to the list, respond to queries
Student Network Director
* Run a team of Student Network Leads, covering UK and international universities
* Manage CTC partner university relationships (with MIP/Vlerick/Holland), e.g. synchronise scheduling and judging
* Recruit new regional partners to feed in teams to the London CTC
* Draft /update communication documents, e.g. how to run a local competition, promotional materials
